Retail Audits
In these tough economic times, independent retailers can ill afford a “business as usual” approach to attracting and keeping customers. Any organization or government entity charged with ensuring a healthy commercial district or corridor should be asking the following questions of their local businesses… ‘Are your local retailers selling the right product and services at the right price, and what can they do to better meet the needs and expectations of their customers?’ Our Retail Audit Program helps businesses respond to changing market conditions by identifying areas of strength and weakness, and devising a strategic plan to improve business competitiveness.
The Program is a process for collecting constructive feedback from customers. We do this by engaging ‘Shoppers’, individuals recruited and trained in Retail Audit Program procedure. These Shoppers visit participating retailers and evaluate them on the several general categories including customer service and selling skills and merchandise mix and product pricing. This information is then used to identify and exploit hidden opportunities to increase revenue and to help address overlooked problems that may be keeping customers away. The results are presented individually to participating retailers and compiled into a general report for the broader community.
